Located in Dorchester County, Summerville has a total area of 15.4 square miles. Only 20 miles north of Charleston, you can enjoy all the comforts of a quaint escape called home while being within easy reach of the downtown amenities.Although there is no beach you are just a short 30 min ride to the sandy beaches.  During the summer months wealthy plantation families would leave their homes and go on holiday here, hence the place was soon labeled Summerville.

Summerville Schools

Summerville also prides itself in its excellent school system. If you are raising a child, education is a great factor in considering where you are going to live. There are several schools in the area to choose from and the neighborhood is great.The Dorcheseter II School District serving Summerville is rated as having some of the best schools in the state.
